The Avalara Integration connects Avalara’s industry-leading tax automation with Excede’s dealership management system (DMS), providing accurate, real-time tax calculations and address validation within your existing workflow. This integration helps your dealership reduce errors, save time, and stay compliant with evolving tax regulations.
Building on the success of v1.1, the new v1.2 release introduces enhancements focused on improved customer creation process, smarter invoice handling, and expanded support for multiple tax codes all designed to fit the way your dealership operates.
What’s New in Avalara Integration v1.2
- Improved Customer Creation process: When new customers are created “on the fly” (for example, during parts orders), outdated default values are no longer copied. This ensures every customer record is clean and properly validated, resulting in more accurate tax processing.
- Support for Multiple Tax Codes per Branch: Your dealership can now assign multiple Avalara tax codes within a single TaxID setting. This flexibility allows precise tax application across different products and services, from parts and labor to rentals and accessories.
- Smarter Processing of $0 Invoices: Invoices totaling zero dollars are now intelligently bypassed during Avalara posting, speeding up processing and reducing errors. However, if an invoice includes both sales and returns that net to zero, it will still be fully processed to maintain compliance.
- Bug Fixes and Performance Enhancements: Backend improvements enhance error messaging, logging, and system stability which is especially important for dealerships managing high volumes of transactions.
